a little about me.

ENFJ She/Her Libra

I was a very impatient child growing up, I liked things done accurately and efficiently. What started as a character flaw, quickly developed into a very observant and empathetic little child. The real issues arose as I watched my parents fall further and further behind during the tech boom, all of a sudden I was the one pointing to the computer screen and giving out directions. I watched my grandparents struggle to figure out Facetime as phones began to shrink, and watched half of my friends thrive with developments in tech, while the others shied away. Technology can seem daunting for many, it’s an overload of information at your fingertips. But it’s such a beautiful tool that should be shared with everyone.

Accessibility was where my interests began to scratch the surface. Then I began to dive into creating. Re-designs, logos, and surveys began to follow suit. I discovered my favorite thing about it, the merging of creative arts and people. You wouldn’t know how much UX/UI is involved with people until you learn about it. The idea of creating with the majority of humanity in mind.

That is my favorite part. And it’s why I want to begin a career in this field. We try to find all the best parts of something before merging it together into one, while also appreciating the visual and aesthetic side of design as well.

My full name is Annabelle Janeen Durga Cushman.

Now, more often than not I go by “Annabelle”, but I think we’re in agreeance that the full name is a bit more than a mouthful.

This inevitably resulted in a slew of nicknames over the years. “Anna”, “AJ”, “Belles”, and “Cushy”. Obviously, you know which one ended up sticking around.
